24/02/14 - Production diary
It is getting closer to the deadline on the 4th of March, my evaluation needs to be completed along with all my blog work and magazine! Todays lesson I will ensure I have created my evaluation to a professional look along with my magazine being fully completed, this will ensure changing the images on my contents page and over looking on my evaluation by changing the images around to suit the text better. For example, question number 5) about the audience showing images of my stereotypical audience reader.

17/07/14 - Production diary
Carrying on with our work from last lesson of trying to improve our work to get a higher grade, I have began to work on improving my evaluation. Orginally I just wrote my evaluation out onto my blog, however to raise my grade I have decided to make my evaluation into a magazine format as I feel it will look more professional and be much more interesting to read. I feel the layout for my 7 evaluations is much more effective and looks as if I have tried to ensure the 'radar' feel throughout my magazine and answers.

Drafting #4
More changes have
been made to my magazine as I am currently on drafting number 4, now I have
made the decision of changing the last page around - in doing this I have
removed the image on the right and added a close up and rather than fitting it
in a certain place I have enlarged it putting it in the right corner - putting
'the verdict' over the side of the image, I feel this is a more professional
approach on the last page and stands out more as the main image tells more of a
story in comparison to the other image.

Today we got back our grades from our draft magazines, we got feedback back and we had a chance to improve our magazine to the best we can. This meant we could establish where our falls where and where we was strongest at, it was eveident to me I needed to imporve my magazine.
This was my original last page when I handed it in as draft in comparison to the final product which I have now created, it is clear I have made some big changes in order to push my points up. Changing the image and moving around the boxes has created a more professional magazine.
Drafting #3
Today we got our feedback on the changes we need to make for our magazine to be of a better standard, I decided to change the pages by putting the double page image as the 4th page rather than the 3rd this meant that the page before I have now turned into an introduction rather than just an essay I feel this is a more professional approach. I have also changed the writing and layout of the double page by using a shorter quote and enlarging, in my opinion this suits the layout of my magazine much more.

Survey results
It is important to
understand your target audience and their wants and needs from a magazine,
creating a survey and asking people to answer was a good method of gaining that
information. It was evident for answer one the majority of my audience use
twitter as a preferred type of social media minus a few who choose instagram.
Question 2, how often do you listen to music? Understandably nearly everyone
answered always. Question 3 based about if you keep up to date with your favourite
artists showed more people choosing always however some saying sometimes. How
often do you want your magazine to be distributed was my next question and this
was going to help me decide when it should be distributed - conclusion is
monthly from the feedback? Question 5 about how you get your music showed all
people get their music online normally by downloading it off the computer. Do
you go to festivals answer was evident my audience enjoy going to concerts and
festivals giving me heads up to including free tickets on my magazine. Question
7 about print and online showed people like them both the same amount and if
not print more than online which was shocking for me. Question 8 about pricing
demonstrated I had made the right decision when choosing to price my magazine
from £2.00-2.99 as that was the most chosen answer. Everyone answered yes to
the magazine being interactive as they want a relationship with the magazine,
similar to question 10 about articles where answers where varied to answers
about gossip, backstage stuff, new music and personal lives of artists.
